All children receive an Individual Learning Plan which charts and monitors each child's learning progress throughout the school year. Parent-Teacher conferences are held three times a year to discuss the progress of each child.

Assessments are tracked utilizing the Galileo Pre K program which can be accessed by parents online.

Children in Early Head Start are assessed using Teaching Strategies GOLD and Ages and Stages Questionnaire

Health and Disability

The Health Coordinator works with each parent to ensure that all children have medical and dental homes and adhere to follow-up appointments from doctors and dentists as necessary.

Children are screened for developmental delays, speech delays, hearing and vision loss, height/weight development and behavioral/mental health concerns.

Assistance is provided to obtain an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or Individual Family Services Plan (IFSP) for children with disabilities.

We reserve 10% of our spaces for children with disabilities who are included in a classroom with typically developing children.

Nutrition

Each child receives breakfast, a hot lunch and snack daily according to a pre-designed U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) menu.

A registered dietitian reviews all meals to ensure they are nutritionally balanced and culturally diverse, introducing new foods and textures to the children as part of the learning environment.

Children and families are taught healthy eating habits through biweekly nutrition activities developed by our Nutrition Coordinator.

Mental Health

A contracted licensed mental health professional is on-site at both locations to assist with assessments, continuity of care, and provision of services for the children and families.

Additionally, St. Alban's has an on-site Mental Health Internship Program, in partnership with Nova Southeastern University, where interns provide behavior therapy, play therapy, family therapy and parent training.

Social Services

Each family develops a Family Partnership Agreement with a Social Service Specialist with outlines the parent's goals for the year. These usually include improving their education, seeking better employment, buying a home or securing government assistance.

Program governance is an important aspect of our programs. Parents are elected to Parent and Policy Committees which ensures parental participation in the development of program policies, hiring and termination of program staff and the approval of classroom activities.
