St. Alban's is committed to providing high-quality early childhood education that nurtures each child’s self-development, celebrates cultural identity, and promotes respect and inclusion for all, while supporting the growth and well-being of the families we serve.
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) and look to various organizations (federal, state, etc.) to help fund the work that we do for our children and families.
St. Alban’s was founded in 1949 and is dedicated to early childhood education and the families of the children we serve.
Over 70 years more than 10,000 children have been served with our three locations and we hope to serve 10,000 more.
Our Philosophy
We believe that children learn best when they are encouraged and supported by parents and teachers through child initiated and age appropriate activities.
We will provide a safe, supportive and loving environment that will promote learning and allow children to achieve their fullest potential.
The most important growth and development in the brain happens by the age of five. Children who participate in high-quality early childhood education programs develop better language skills, score higher in school-readiness tests and have better social skills and fewer behavioral problems once they enter school.
For children 0 to 3 years of age.
Our program uses Creative Curriculum.
10 hours of service are provided
Teachers conduct at least two parent-teacher conferences and home visits during the school year
Our program is inclusive to children with disabilities and/or developmental delays.
Classroom sizes of no more than 8 children with 2 teachers.
Designed to prepare children for school, particularly those from income-eligible families.
Intended to serve as a preventive measure for children at risk of future school failure.
For children 3 to 5 years of age.
Our program uses High Scope.
Our program is inclusive to children with disabilities and/or developmental delays.
Two teachers in each classroom.
Classroom assessments of each child is conducted periodically throughout the program year
Participating children must be 4 year of age on or before September 1.
Pre-K promotes a love of learning in children.
Pre-K enhances what a child learns at home and instills a love of life-long learning.
Pre-K prepares children to be ready for school.
We are open to individuals, school groups, or work groups to volunteer their time, talents, and gifts toward the children and families.
Our program depends on donors to fill in the gaps that our funders are not able to provide. Anything you are able to provide helps to continue keeping this program alive.
